A clear and present danger...

Freedom is a fragile entity. Many in America have a watchful eye towards our government and an uneasy feeling that we are just one crisis away from losing the freedoms the founding fathers hoped to eternally enshrine in the Constitution. As citizens of this great nation, we must maintain our contract of participation with our government or we will relinquish our freedoms into the hands of those who hold power. The three branches of government act as counter-balances of power, however there is a fourth branch of power which rests in the hands of the citizenry. If we do not participate in the political process we abandon our duty to democracy.

Mexico Flu raises fears about FEMA camps

I have been following the news about the Mexico Swine/Avian/Human flu and noticed a presence of people bringing up FEMA camps. This reinforces my opinion that many people fear we are just one major crisis away from the government seeking to imprison us. (Fema Camps)

It doesn't make sense that the government would willing imprison the US population. The cost of our over-flowing prisons now is a huge burden on Federal and local governments. The question I ask and the reason for starting the blog, is why to we as a people fear our government? Why do we have in impending sense of doom leading to the thought that there are plans to imprison us?

Any comments from readers on this topic is appreciated. I would like to hear your opinion.
